The below handicap figures are based on the latest average 3 times achieved on either P841 or P843 both of which are 10 mile sporting courses. To obtain the 15, 25, 50 and 100 mile times this figure is simply multiplied by the appropriate distance factor(eg multiply by 2.5 for 25miles). The base, or scratch, time is the club gold standard time of 21m50s.
As much as possible the times used as a start are based on the 2013 season, where that has not been possible, for example a new club member with no recorded time, the actual time achieved on their first run will be assumed to be the average until that rider has built up three times.
There are many methods of calculating handicaps but HRC have chosen this method in order that visibility of, and an understanding of calculations used for all riders can be achieved relatively easily.
