Awful weather with rain pouring down and a strong easterly breeze saw a reasonable number of starters but a lot of riders dropped out. The pace of the race was down a little on last weeks but there were still some attacks which resulted in some unintentional interval training. Hamish took his turn on the front a couple of times as it was really the only time it was possible to see anything and avoid the spray… The wind up for the sprint finish started two laps to the end but by that time Hamish decided it was better to be safe than risk an incident (as well as his legs being totally shot) and finished safely in the pack.
