Apologies for the late notice and I know already there are a few of you who cannot make it but………
On Sunday 19th November, one day before the AGM, I am finally running the Presidents ride. A tradition of the club for a social tootle around the local lanes and sometimes lanes you’ve not seen before, and we even talk to one another while riding too! Then back to Fishbourne Roman Palace for 12.15pm prompt where non riders or oversleepers meet us and then we have a buffet finish, where we can chat some more! If you’ve not been out all year then make this your ride of the season. Club members, potential club members and friends of the club are all invited.
The buffet at £5 per head will comprise of soup, sandwiches, crisps, cheese, crackers, chutnies, and cake with a tea or coffee! Absolute bargain and the point of the day really.
Pace will be pleasant and as flat as can be arranged so all can participate which ever bike or legs they are using that day. Dee and Gary are excused route details for the day.
So come out for a ride, maybe come out on a different bike that you normally use, and the President’s tandem may also make an appearance if he can find a stoker for the back seat!!!!!
(The real reason of course why I’ve squeezed it in before the AGM is that due to world events, I may well not be President come 9pm on Monday night, hence it could be my last job in office, then all my reforms will be stopped too!)
Hope to see you all there of course. Wrap up warm.
Just a reminder that this Sunday the 5th November is the Inter-club Hillclimb between Bognor Regis CC, Hampshire Road Club, Southdown Velo and this year’s hosts …a3crg. The HQ & signing-on area is the usual place on the Trundle at the top of Town Lane and Knights Hill Goodwood. Start Time is 11:00am and the entry fee is £2.00 (to cover the cost of the CTT levy), signing-on will start at 10:15am.
Rob Sherrin (the organiser) has arranged for hot drinks and perhaps bacon butties and other eats to be available, so make sure you sign-on early, they may run out for the later starters!
Last year’s winners for the Individual & Team, Southdown Velo, will be there with the two trophies, will they be taking them home again? One thing though, you can all take home will be the result sheet just like any other …a3crg event.
